Lloyd’s Lab Accelerator opens applications for Ireland-themed Cohort 16

10 Dec 2025

Lloyd’s, the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance market for global risk, yesterday announced that applications for Cohort 16 are officially open. This upcoming Cohort will feature a dedicated Irish theme for the first time, as part of a strategic partnership with Ireland’s Department of Finance, focusing on flood risk, cyber, AI and export finance. The additional two themes cover applicants seeking to provide operational efficiency and new products for the Lloyd’s market.

The companies selected will receive mentorship from Ireland-based market experts, while all Cohort 16 participants will benefit from direct access to Lloyd's market underwriters, capital providers, and distribution partners.

Lloyd's Lab, the top-rated insurance incubator by the Financial Times, does not take equity in participating companies and operates a stage-agnostic model, supporting both early-stage startups and established scale-ups.

“We’re opening the door to Cohort 16, where our partnership with Ireland will bring fresh perspectives to address critical challenges facing both the Irish economy and the Lloyd's market.”
Rosie Denée, Head of Innovation and Commercial Education, Lloyd’s
“This partnership with Ireland’s Department of Finance reinforces our commitment to European innovation whilst showcasing Irish InsurTech talent on a global stage. The Lloyd’s Lab bridges local expertise and market opportunity, strengthening ties between Ireland and Lloyd’s Europe. This cohort will deliver tangible solutions to emerging risks and drive real commercial value across the market.”
Jonathan May, Lloyd’s Europe CEO
“Lloyd’s Lab represents the very best of global insurance innovation, and I welcome the focus on a dedicated Irish theme as part of this strategic partnership. This reflects the ongoing commitment Lloyd's has to Ireland, sending a clear message about the strength of our insurance ecosystem and future growth potential. By connecting innovators with the reach, capital and expertise of Lloyd’s, this collaboration will reinforce Ireland’s position as a leading international hub for insurance and financial services.”
Robert Troy TD, the Minister of State at Department of Finance with special responsibility for Financial Services, Insurance and Credit Unions

The 10-week accelerator will run from April to July 2026, with three mandatory in-person weeks at Lloyd's in London

Interested companies can apply for Cohort 16 of the Lloyd’s Lab accelerator programme until 26th January 2026, when applications close.
